Summer Wrap-Up

The calm after the soccer camp…that’s how it feels right now for a little bit at least! So I just wanted to take a few moments to reflect on what a great week it was last week. God gave us a couple really great days of sunny (and muggy!) August weather…so that 65 kids, 12 coaches, and a host of helpers could enjoy a week of playing soccer, meeting new friends, and learning about Jesus. I mean, how can you beat that? Thank you to all the coaches and everyone who contributed to this summer’s camp!

I really appreciated also getting to talk to a lot of you parents at the cookout on Thursday evening. It means a lot for me to be able to hear how much your kids enjoyed the camp, to hear how they’ve been singing the songs, and to have an opportunity to invite your families to come to learn more about Jesus at our church.

I’m just being totally honest with you when I say it’s really our joy to do this camp and to share God’s love with kids despite all the work it takes. I also enjoy answering the question, “So where’s your church?” Yep, it’s at the movie theater across the street from the soccer club. I know that always strikes some people as kind of strange at first…but hey, the church is about people and a building of any kind is just a tool to help us connect more people to Christ.

God so loved the world was our soccer camp theme this year. We’d love to help you discover more about what that means. You all are invited to worship with us any Sunday at Showtime Cinema here in Franklin at 9:30 am.

We also have a fun and engaging kids’ ministry called Bible Quest that takes place every Sunday during the worship service. Just bring your kids in a little before 9:30 to register them on your way into worship.

In Christ,

Pastor Ben
