You are Invited

Dear Friends,

The wind blows wherever it pleases. You hear its sound, but you cannot tell where it comes from or where it is going. Well that certainly sounds like something that would describe a windy day like today here in Wisconsin, doesn’t it? It’s like the wind out there has a mind of its own.

But these are actually words of Jesus that he once spoke to describe the work of God. Just like I can’t control the wind or tell it how many mph it should blow, so I can’t control how God works or completely figure out how. And yet I know God’s at work in people’s lives the same way that I know the wind is at work outside my house. I can see and hear the results.

And for good reason. The Bible tells us that through simple things like words in the Bible or words spoken by a pastor or a friend…God is at work! Through simple words that are connected to water in Baptism and words connected to wafers and wine in Communion…God is at work! He’s working to give people hope. He’s working to give people joy. He’s working to forgive and to transform!

I think one of the coolest things in the world for me in being part of a church is seeing God’s work in real people’s lives that are changed forever through faith in Jesus. That’s what we’re all about at Victory of the Lamb. What I should really say is that’s what God is all about at Victory of the Lamb.

God is at work. Starting this coming Sunday, October 31st, I invite all of you to join us for our new sermon series called Finally Free! In this series we’re going to let God work through his words to give us a clear picture of how he can set us free from guilt, from condemnation, from sadness, and from worry.

So come alone. Come with your family. Come with a friend. But just come. Come this Sunday. Hear God’s words and let God work in you…because it’s not about what you have to do. It’s about what he wants to do for you.
