Good Questions - Honest Answers

An angry judge, a doting grandfather, an attentive butler—these are all common caricatures of God. What is God really like? That’s the first question we’ll be answering starting this Sunday as we begin our series that will take us through the rest of the summer called Good Questions – Honest Answers.

Soccer Camp 2014 is officially in the history books! Attendance records were smashed. Songs were sung. Soccer skills were taught. Snacks were eaten. And most importantly, kids learned about Jesus. Thanks everyone who helped! If you haven’t seen them yet, I know you will enjoy checking out the fantastic pictures that were taken over the week. You can view them on our church Facebook page. (You don’t have to be on Facebook to view them.)

4th of July Parade:  Please join us for the Franklin 4th of July Parade next Friday, July 4th. Our VotL float will start on the east side of Loomis Road near the post office. (We will have a specific float number for you prior to the parade.) The VotL band will already be set up there practicing. This is where you will want to meet us by 10:30. Feel free to bring patriotic decorations to deck out your kids' bikes and strollers.

During the parade, we'll share postcards, candy, and smiles with those people sitting along the parade route. The parade ends on the north side of Lions Legend Park, just down from the fire station.

If you are able to donate candy (individually wrapped, non-chocolate), please email Sammi Goodger or just bring it to church on Sunday. We'll have a bin here to collect it.

End of the Year - This coming Sunday is the last Sunday in our fiscal year. So many of you have been blessed by the ministry here at Victory of the Lamb and so many people have given generously to support our ministry. We thank God and we thank you! If you would like to give a special gift as the year comes to an end, use the online giving option on our website. There are so many exciting opportunities for our church just around the corner to share the love of Jesus with even more people in our community!

Modern Family Resources Remember that on our new church website we are able to archive all the resources we produce for our sermon series. Use them to catch up or review on your own or share with others who need them!

Tuition Assistance for Lutheran Education Our vision for Victory of the Lamb does not include us operating our own school. We want to be a church that stays focused on our mission of reaching the lost in our community. We value and support strong public schools. As a church our vision is to equip families with the resources and training for Christian education not just at church but also at home. At the same time there are many excellent Lutheran schools in the area within in our fellowship and we value formal Christian education. Thus we have developed a tuition assistance program funded by gifts outside the church budget to help families in a small way offset the costs of a Lutheran parochial education. It also is intended to encourage those considering the preaching and teaching ministry in our Synod. For more information about the program and how to apply visit the Tuition Assistance page on our website. And in case you weren’t aware, St Jacobi Lutheran School (3K-8th grade) in Greenfield has partnered with us as a mission church by providing a special tuition rate for Victory of the Lamb member families. Here’s a link to a pdf with more details.

Sharing Christ’s Victory,

Pastor Ben
