Victory News - Good Friday / Easter
What’s not to love about Easter? Spring is finally in the air. Nothing beats the powerful Easter music and the fragrant lilies. There’s the opportunity to spend time with family, the tasty Easter dinner, the excited smiles of children racing around to find their Easter basket or that last hidden egg. For many families Easter marks the beginning of spring break and an opportunity to finally slow down a little.
But we don’t want to lose sight of the fact that Easter impacts our lives for much more than a day or a week and its impact on our lives is much more profound than making pleasant memories.
That’s why starting Sunday we’ve got a new series starting based on one of the most impactful chapters in the entire Bible—1 Corinthians 15. We’re going to take a closer look at the fact of Jesus’ resurrection and the wonderful implications it has on all our lives.
Death has been swallowed up in victory. Where, O death, is your victory? Where, O grave, is your sting. The sting of death is sin and the power of sin is the law. But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through Jesus Christ, our Lord. 1 Corinthians 15:55-57
Good Friday—Since we’re still in the movie theater, we don’t have our own Good Friday yet. So instead, be encouraged to visit an area WELS church for their services today. You will be welcome! Here’s a list of opportunities for Good Friday worship services this afternoon or evening. Of special interest I think for many of you would be the special Tenebrae service at St Marcus with the band Koine. And the good news is it’s also being live streamed. Here’s a link to watch.
