Victory News - What a Weekend!

Pastor Mark Wagner guest preaching for our dedication service
Despite the cold it was sure a fantastic weekend for our contractor thank-you and our special dedication service. Special thanks to our District Mission Board Chairman, Pastor Mark Wagner, for preaching—“Let THIS be about the Lord’s great love!” I also personally appreciated and took to heart his reminder that our new building isn’t the end. It’s just the beginning. Now we’re really getting started again!

And it was sure wonderful to celebrate with all our Builders For Christ friends who showed up and represented so well. It was rewarding to have them come back and watch them wander around the building and to listen to their reactions at seeing the finishing touches: “This exceeded my expectations.” To God the glory!

I’m also privileged to report that our special dedication offering gathered just over $2,000 which, as we announced at the service, we are splitting up between our More Than Bricks campaign and the Builders For Christ organization. In this way our dedication offering will help support more than just our ministry center building. It will help support gospel outreach in North Dakota, St. Lucia, and Nepal as well as the ongoing work of the Builders For Christ in helping other churches build new facilities for outreach.

Food and fellowship after the dedication service
This Sunday again it sounds like it will be frigid outside, but as we turn out hearts to hearing God’s Word we trust the Spirit power’s to work inside us. I’m reminded of the Emmaus disciples who once said: "Were not our hearts burning within us while he talked with us on the road and opened the Scriptures to us?" (Luke 24:32). It’s going to be a great weekend here with a couple baptisms, communion, and a wedding, Bible 101, and a teen ministry meeting.

All are invited to join us for worship Sunday morning at 9 or 10:45. Victory Kids ministry at both.

Teen Ministry Open Forum Tomorrow - On January 16th @ 4pm, we are inviting all young adults from 7th grade up to 12th grade and any adults interested in developing our Teen Ministry to a Teen Ministry Open Forum. The goal is to lay the foundation for a Teen Ministry to begin in February. There are no geographic boundaries and VotL membership is not required. If you have any questions, concerns or can’t make the meeting but would like to be involved; please contact Jon Brown-Schmidt either by phone/text 414-531-3690 or via email

Quick note: There will be a wedding going on in the sanctuary at 3:30 so if you’re coming for the teen ministry meeting, please head into the large group kids room (the Elementary room) in the Victory Kids wing.

New Bible 101 Has Started – Still time to jump on board! Bible 101 is the starting point in our church for anyone looking to learn more about God, anyone who wants to see for themselves what the Bible says, anyone who would like to receive the sacrament of holy communion, or anyone seeking membership in our church family.

No previous Bible knowledge needed or expected. All materials provided free of charge.

Here’s the scoop: “Mix and match” either Tuesday evenings and Saturday afternoons starting January 12th and 16th. Bible 101 is 4 lessons (4 weeks). After that Bible 201 begins which is 6 lessons (6 weeks). After that Bible 301 begins which is 8 lessons (8 weeks).

Tuesday evenings from 6:30-8:00 pm or Saturday afternoons from 1-2:30 pm.
Mix and match your Tuesdays and Saturdays...or come to both!

Please contact me to let me know you’re coming.
Still time to jump in tomorrow at 1 pm!

Save the Date – Easter For Kids on March 12th, a special one day kids’ event to take place at our ministry center between 11am-3pm.

Save the Date – Community Grand Opening on March 20th at our Sunday morning services.

Service Livestreaming – We’re getting close! It sounds like potentially next week we’ll be getting internet in our building. Hopefully this means we’ll get back to regular livestreaming soon.

The time in-between – In between services we love to have people mingle and enjoy the food and fellowship provided by the Victory CafĂ©. We want the time in between to be a meeting up point for people no matter which service you’re attending. Please be mindful though too of the flow of people coming in for second service that we don’t cluster right in front of the main entrance. If possible please spread out throughout the lobby to make it easier for new people coming in for the second service. Thanks!

Sharing Christ’s Victory,

Pastor Ben
I enjoyed singing "In Christ Alone" with our special dedication choir
