Victory News - Pastor Bill's Installation!

A big tent and a basketball hoop...what could be more fun?

Dear Friends,

Faith means joy…and we get to pass it on!

Find out why this Sunday as we bask in the victory that Jesus won and install Pastor Bill Limmer as my gospel teammate at Victory of the Lamb. (Can you tell I’m excited about this? God is awesome!)

Pastor Bill will be installed during both our regular Sunday morning services at 9 and 10:45 with a special tailgate party at noon in the parking immediately following the 2nd service.

There will be grilled food, lemonade, a huge tent with tables and chairs, plus a lot of fun and games to be had. Everything’s provided but if you want to bring camp chairs or any of your favorite tailgate games to play in the parking lot you are also welcome to do so.

And invite a friend or neighbor! Sunday will be a great day to introduce someone to the joy we have because of Jesus. All are welcome at the tailgate party too. And the weather is looking like it will be absolutely gorgeous outside…God is good!

Click here to watch this past Sunday’s sermon based on 1 Corinthians 11:17-34 about what makes the Lord’s Supper such a special sacrament and why it’s important to be prepared before you partake.

Victory Kids – For the summer months of July and August, we will have our Victory Kids ministry during the 9 am service only. There will be no Victory Kids during the 10:45 service. Victory Kids will return to two services at the end of summer.

Volunteer For Victory Kids – Stop by the Victory Kids lobby any time after the first service to meet Liz Scheel, our new Victory Kids director. Also, sign up to serve as a potential volunteer and automatically be entered in a drawing to win an iPad mini to be given away during Pastor Bill’s installation party this Sunday (but you have to actually register to eligible!) You can also register right now using this link and this will automatically enter you in the drawing. Both current and new volunteers are asked to register using the link and all who register are entered to win.

Quest Teen Leader – Quest is looking to build our team of adult leaders! We are looking for adult members of Victory of the Lamb who love God, have an interest in working with teens (7th-12th grade), and can commit to preparing and running Quest activities about once a month on Sunday evenings. For more information, please contact Jon Brown-Schmidt.

Gift Cards for Limmer Family – Our church is in the process of purchasing a condo for Pastor Bill and his family to live in as a church owned parsonage. We hope they’ll be able to move sometime this month when everything is finalized. In the meantime, we’d like to help welcome Pastor Bill and his family to the area. Therefore, this Sunday there will be a box in which you are invited to place welcome cards. As a suggestion, consider perhaps including a gift card to a local restaurant or a grocery store gift card to help give them a “taste of Franklin” and smooth their transition here. Look for the box this Sunday and next!

Breakfast and Bible Group – Will meet this Monday, August 8th in the ministry center lobby. Won’t meet on August 15th or 22nd. // all are welcome // free breakfast & coffee // 5:45-6:45 am // Just show up!

Support for Poulos Family -- As you may know from the prayer requests at church, John and Ashley Poulos' son Jackson is currently undergoing treatment for cancer. Please continue to pray for this family.  If you would like to help in a tangible way, you can purchase food/grocery/gas gift cards and place them in the box marked "Support for Poulos Family" in the welcome area at church. You can also sign up to bring a meal to the family through Care Calendar. To sign up, go to www.carecalendar.org. The Calendar ID is 237748, and the security code is 4799. Any dates that have "Dinner" in red are open for you to bring a meal! Due to a nut allergy in the family, please be sure to prepare all meals nut-free. Any questions? Feel free also to email Sammi Goodger

The SOUL Ride – On Saturday, August 13th our church is hosting a motorcycle ride to raise financial support for the vital work of WELS Lutherans for Life and the local pregnancy care centers they operate. For more info about participating visit the event page on our website.

Awake and Alive – August 14, 5pm. The Christian event for the 18-25 generation continues its Summer group series Sunday evening August 14th in Muskego, WI with Speaker/Pastor Kelly Huet, live art with painter Lauren Bugenhagen and special guest Christian Recording artist and Life-fest veteran Holly Starr!
